Pour créer une image avec une application intégrant de l’IA comme Midjourney, l’utilisateur doit écrire une requête ou ‘prompt’ comme :  » Prend une photo d’une plage au coucher de soleil (avec un chat) « . Mais, l’IA réserve des surprises et parfois le résultat ne correspond pas du tout à ce qui était prévu. Par exemple, l’image de l’homme embrassant une vache a été obtenue avec la requête suivante : «  Fais une photo réaliste d’un tableau de Soulages se faisant lécher par une vache brune dans un musée  » (Surprise#1). Le réalisme du style photographique des images accentue les décalages de perception.
L’usage de l’IA renvoie alors au surréalisme ou au courant artistique du Glitch. La surprise est double : les images sélectionnées dans cette série sont souvent surprenantes en soi et, par ailleurs, l’écart entre le prompt d’origine et le résultat est tout aussi étonnant. Chaque image est présentée accompagnée du prompt qui a permis de la créer, le jeu étant de comparer la requête initiale (le prompt) et le résultat obtenu.

To create an image with an AI app like Midjourney, the user must write a request or ‘prompt’ like: « Take a photo of a beach at sunset (with a cat). » But, AI reserves surprises and sometimes the result does not correspond at all to what was planned. For example, the image of the man kissing a cow was obtained with the following request: « Take a realistic photo of a painting by Soulages being licked by a brown cow in a museum  » (Surprise#1). The realism of the photographic style of the images accentuates the shifts in perception.
The use of AI then refers to surrealism or the artistic movement of Glitch. The surprise is twofold: the images selected in this series are often surprising in themselves and, moreover, the gap between the original prompt and the result is just as astonishing. Each image is presented accompanied by the prompt that allowed it to be created, the game being to compare the initial request (the prompt) and the result obtained.
